Dressage in the Wheatbelt

Eastern Wheatbelt Riding Club hosts two very successful dressage events throughout the year under the banner of ‘Dressage in the Wheatbelt’.

Dust & Diamonds is our Dressage Summer Series held over 4-5 dates from December to February. We start at 6am to beat the heat, and excellent camping facilities are available for those traveling. These are training tests from Preparatory to Elementary, with higher test upon request, under a PCAWA qualified judge. Day insurance is available for riders who are not EA/EWRC members. This series has a very supportive atmosphere for adult riders, riders just starting out in dressage or those wanting to move up a grade in the new year.

Crystals in Kellerberrin is our Dressage Gala held annually in September. These are competition tests with categories for PCAWA members, EA Participant, EA Competitor and Adult Riders classes. We offer tests from Preparatory to Elementary, on grass with EA qualified judges for all levels. Fantastic prizes are on offer and excellent camping facilities are available.

Club Rallies

The club hosts monthly rallies, from March until August, catering to all styles of riding. Past rallies have included camp drafting, trail rides, dressage, show jumping, eventing, mounted games, horse soccer, agility and horsemanship.

Rally registrations close SEVEN days prior to the rally date, and payment is due at that time to secure your place.

Club Awards

These awards are designed to recognise members for their attendance, participation and contribution to the spirit of the club throughout the year.

Rally Attendance

For the member who has attended the most rallies (mounted or unmounted) throughout the year.

A record will be kept of rally attendance for each member.

Best Presented

For the member who has demonstrated a high standard of presentation.

This is not necessarily about having flash gear, but more about your effort to present yourself and your horse at rallies.

Votes will be collected from the coach at each rally.

Most Improved

For the member who has demonstrated a commitment to improve their riding and/or horsemanship.

Votes will be collected from the coach at each rally.

Club Ambassador

For the member who consistently contributes to the spirit of EWRC. They demonstrate sportsmanship, leadership and friendship.

Votes will be collected from the members present at each rally.

Voting details are listed for each award and a tally of votes will be maintained by the President & Secretary.

Trophies will be awarded to the winner of each category at a special Awards Night and Wind Up function at the end of the year.

The awards are open to EWRC FULL and EWRC CLUB members only. Riders using day membership are not eligible for the awards.

ARCA Affiliation

Adult Riding Clubs Association (ARCA) of WA is a group of adult equestrian clubs throughout WA who compete against each other in a variety of different events and different disciplines hosted by individual clubs. Each affiliated club appoints a Club Representative to represent them at 2 meetings a year to assist with input and feedback on behalf of their club, as well as passing on to their own members any relevant information about ARCA and upcoming challenges.
